Biography of Gerrard Steven

We can consider him one of the greatest soccer players in the world in his position and one of the last flags, as he has been playing all along in his city team and with it he had shared defeats and wins, always as protagonist, till the conquest of the last Champions, to the detriment of the Milan which helped in insert him in greatest champions list.

The Englishman is the real soul of his team, he is its captain and with him and thanks to the shouting of its public too, the Reds have something more, they are a solid and united team.

In hard times Gerrard shoulders the Liverpool and drives it to do its best.

For all summer 2005 it was rumoured about his transfer to the Celsea or to Italy, but this rumours have lead him only to a renew till 2009.

Grown in football in young teams of the Liverpool, he made his debut in the Premier League  on 8 May 1988 and in the english national on 31 may 2000 against the Ukraine.  He becomes captain of the Reds just at 24, taking the band by Sami Hyypia because of the choise of the trainer Rafael Benitez.

In 2005, after he had led the Liverpool to conquest the Champions League in the extraordinary recovery against the Milan propitiated thanks to his goals, he classed himself third at the Golden Ball.

He makes with Frank Lampard, in the english national, a couple of center fielders really extraordinary and maybe the absolute best at national level.

In the english champions of the current year(2005/2006), he signed 10 goals.

Thanks to two goals in the final match against the West Ham, one of wich with a torpedo from more than 25 m just on term while the fans of the West Ham were celebrating, he won the english Fa Cup.

Becoming captain of the Liverpool represents for him the fulfilment of a childish dream, as he has been a great fun of the team of his city since he was child.
